The film follows self-styled revolutionary Chris (T. Ryder Smith) as he prepares to self-publish his book, On Distraction. Obsessed with critical theory, he debates with Laura, a photographer and marijuana brownie baker, and his on-again, off-again girlfriend, Vanessa, a sociology professor. They tackle topics like identity issues, politics, escape from capitalism, #MeToo, #BLM, and more.
