Erica decides to keep the pregnancy a secret, only telling Heather about it. She also decides to have an abortion; Heather disapproves of this, and this difference could tear the twins apart.

When Michelle's parents split up, she is forced to choose between them, which proves to be a difficult decision. Erica's abortion wasn't easy for her, and now someone at Degrassi is trying to make things even tougher.

Arthur develops a crush on Caitlin and begins to daydream about going out with her. Meanwhile, Caitlin accepts Claude's invitation to the movies, even though she has a date with Joey for the same night.

With Lucy behind the camera, the Zits (Joey, Snake and Wheels) make a nonsexist rock video. Caitlin and Joey learn that breaking up is hard to do. The hate campaign against Erica escalates.

Kathleen's new boyfriend Scott becomes physically and emotionally abusive. Kathleen is shocked by his behavior and struggles to understand him.

At a party, Heather throws herself at Wheels and seriously damages their friendship. The "Have Nots" - Kathleen, Melanie, and Diana - welcome Maya into their gang, but then offend her by not inviting her to a movie.

Diana, determined to grow up and chafing under her older brother's authority, tries to change her "good girl" image by smoking and drinking. Meanwhile, Joey, Snake and Wheels suffer deflated egos and wallets when they attend a striptease show.

When Erica starts seeing a new boy, her twin Heather is afraid that she will become pregnant again and get another abortion. Meanwhile, Alison and Amy fight over Snake, and Scooter suddenly discovers that his pal Tessa is (gasp!) a girl.

Natural Attraction

Joey finally gets his driver's license, but finds out that his academic difficulties are due to a learning disability. Caitlin, anxiously awaiting a court appearance for her civil disobedience, accepts Maya's offer to accompany her.

With the help of her schoolmates, Lucy directs her first movie, a feminist horror film called It Creeps! Shane returns, after many months in rehab, wanting to see Spike.

Michelle starts taking caffeine pills to extend her study time. Snake is afraid of failing his driving test again and develops psychosomatic symptoms. Meanwhile, Caitlin mistakenly presumes that her favorite teacher, Ms. Avery, is being fired.

Dwayne is shocked to learn that a casual summer sexual encounter has left him HIV positive. Meanwhile, controversy ensues at Degrassi when condom machines are put in the girls' and boys' bathrooms.

Wheels' continuing struggle to cope with his parents' death causes him to act out in school and at home. After a confrontation with his grandmother, she asks him to leave. Caitlin tells her parents she knows about her father's affair.

A Tangled Web

The girls' volleyball team protests when the boys' basketball team is given priority for practice time. When Lucy speaks out for the girls' team, she loses her date for the semiformal dance.

Haunted by memories of being sexually abused as a child, Liz is afraid of intimacy and overreacts when Tim tries to kiss her. Confronted by Spike about her behavior, Liz opens up to her and begins to come to terms with her feelings.

Crossed Wires

Kathleen surprises her friends by bringing marijuana to Diana's birthday party. Joey continues to be frustrated by Wheels, who is staying at Joey's house. Arthur, Luke, Joey and Yick play poker for money while Yankou stays home and does homework.

The All-Nighter

Joey asks Wheels to leave after he discovers that Wheels has been stealing money from his mother. Michelle decides to move back in with her father after they work out their differences in a contract.

Home Sweet Home

Bronco secretly tells Lucy that the rock group The Savages is coming to Degrassi to film a video. Lucy disappoints Bronco when she shares the secret with Heather and Erica.

Extracurricular Activities

In the midst of preparations for a talent show, Claude, who has been seriously depressed, commits suicide at school. After some debate, the talent show proceeds while students come to grips with the tragedy.

The Degrassi kids are preparing for the semiformal, and everyone is looking for dates. When Spike finds out that Snake likes her only as a friend, she steps aside so that he can go to the dance with Michelle, Tessa breaks up with Yankou.

Three's a Crowd

After rumors start circulating that a student at Degrassi has AIDS, Dwayne reveals that he is HIV positive. Joey and Caitlin reunite at Degrassi's last dance.
