At one of Lucy's parties, Spike and Shane lock themselves in a bedroom, where one thing leads to another. When her period is late, Spike has to confront the consequences of her actions.

When Wheels' "real" father shows up out of the blue, he must deal with his feelings about his adoptive parents, his birth parents and his own identity. Spike confirms that she is pregnant.

Parents' Night

To make Wheels jealous, Stephanie, the school president, appoints Joey as the Sports Rep., even though the post is supposed to be held by a seventh grader. As a result, the seventh grade class wants to impeach her.

When the Degrassi Jr. High quiz team goes to Kathleen's house to prepare for a match, they discover that Kathleen's mother is an alcoholic.

Sick of being confused with her twin sister Heather, Erica is determined to define herself as an individual. She finds an opportunity at the Spring Dance, where she is found passionately kissing a strange boy!

Sealed with a Kiss

As Stephanie's mother makes plans to remarry and her father continues to fight for custody of her and her brother, Stephanie becomes increasingly despondent. She even starts to talk about suicide.

Dog Days

A group of parents demands that Spike be moved to another school because her pregnancy sets a bad example. Some of the students agree, but Caitlin writes an article for the school newspaper supporting Spike.

When the school board votes to expel Spike from Degrassi, the students wonder why Spike is being kicked out while Shane is allowed to continue going to class.

Though Lucy's friends have encouraged her to report her harassment by a substitute teacher, she is embarrassed by the incident and wants to forget it.

He's Back

Wheels worries that he might not pass his final exams, while Joey discovers that he may have to repeat the year. The eighth graders' dreams of high school are crushed when they find out Degrassi plans to add a ninth grade.

Wheels' adoptive parents forbid him to see Joey, but Wheels sneaks over to see him when they go out. When Wheels returns, he finds that his parents have been killed in an automobile accident.

When Melanie can't come up with the twenty dollars she needs to buy a concert ticket, she "borrows" it from her mother's purse. Shane tells Spike he can't pay for child support so that he can buy a ticket instead, and Joey makes a twenty-dollar bet.
