Vancouver's Eastside is a hotbed of crime and drug abuse. The Beat Enforcement Team is charged with maintaining order, while Veteran Shane Aitken shows new recruit Mariya Zhalovaga the ropes.

The New Recruit

With his resources stretched to the limit, Sgt. Hinton is asked to commit officers to escorting street-cleaning crews. Two weeks into her training assignment, Zhalovaga, has yet to hit her stride.

Operation Clean Streets

Constable Kristie Fisher returns from medical leave, her latest attempt at getting pregnant having failed. With her partner Tara, they escort a resident who's been receiving threats from her ex.

Drug Debts

Sgt. Hinton alerts his squad to a rash of drug overdoses that have swept across the Eastside. Meanwhile when Hinton tis promoted, the reins of the squad fall to Sgt. Steinkampf.

Overdose Epidemic

As Hinton adjusts to a more administrative role, Sgt. Steinkampf, unveils his first operation in the Eastside: a major clean up of the drug trade taking place around the Community Center.

The drug abuse of the Eastside is starting to spill over into Chinatown. Constable Black takes charge of the situation by clearing the streets of drug users, and then targets a notorious dealer.

Constable Aitken takes a class of local students on a tour of the Eastside. Meanwhile The Beat Enforcement Team works to bring down a gang of Central American drug dealers.

Sgt. Steinkampf takes a journalist on a tour of the neighborhood, as activists squat in a nearby park. Inspector McKay, meanwhile, is on the lookout for a prostitute he's been trying to help.

Rooming houses on the Downtown Eastside have become a favorite spot for drug dealers. When Sgt. Steinkampf receives a tip concerning a drug ring, he decides to act.

With "Operation Old Timer" in full swing, Sgt. Hinton decides that he will take a turn as the undercover elderly decoy. Meanwhile, Constable Fisher struggles with the stresses of the beat.

The Beat Enforcement Team are patrolling an increasingly popular club scene in Gastown. Meanwhile, Sgt. Hinton organizes an evening of hot yoga to promote team-building within the unit.

It's Christmas Eve and the squad are "armed with holiday spirit." That spirit is immediately put to the test as an apparent pipe beating turns out to be a more serious case of domestic abuse.

On Welfare Wednesday, the poor and addicted can be found at bank machines. With cash coming in, there are drug binges and overdoses for the area's police force to control.

Upon graduating from the Academy, Bryan Nykon is assigned to the Downtown Eastside. When a rooming house manager gets his door kicked in, Hinton and Hobbs initially have him pegged as the victim.
